The Embassy of Ethiopia in Côte d’Ivoire, in collaboration with Kuriftu Resorts, Yeshi Group, Ethiopian Airlines, the Ministry of Tourism, Côte d’Ivoire Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a two-day tourism promotion event in Abidjan to showcase Ethiopia’s unique tourism potential and strengthen people-to-people ties across Africa.
The event marks the continuation of Ethiopia’s tourism promotion campaign on the continent, with Cote Divoire serving as the second stop in a series of outreach activities planned in ten African countries. The initiative seeks to attract more visitors by highlighting Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and diverse tourism attractions, while fostering closer connections among African peoples.
Opening the event, Ambassador Shitaye Minale described Ethiopia’s remarkable historical and cultural legacy, including its UNESCO-recognized World Heritage sites. Participants also received presentations on Ethiopia’s growing tourism sector and world-class destinations.
The event brought together government officials, business leaders, media representatives, and tour operators. As part of the program, participants will travel to Ethiopia on a familiarization tour to experience the country’s tourism attractions firsthand.
