Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Russia in Namibia Ilias Madiev met on 18 August with Gloria Kamwi, Head of the World Food Programme (WFP) Office in Namibia, at the Embassy of Russia in Windhoek.
The meeting focused on humanitarian assistance for people affected by natural disasters in Namibia, with both sides discussing ways to support vulnerable communities facing the consequences of emergencies.
The talks also covered potential support for the implementation of other programmes carried out by the WFP in Namibia. The discussions highlighted the importance of continued cooperation in addressing humanitarian needs and strengthening assistance to communities affected by disasters.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on humanitarian priorities in Namibia and explore avenues for further cooperation between Russia and the WFP in support of vulnerable populations.
