Saudi Arabia and Sudan have taken a new step toward strengthening bilateral relations with the establishment of the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council.
Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohieldin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim signed the document establishing the council during a ceremony held Monday at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh.
The creation of the council is expected to provide an institutional framework for advancing cooperation between the two countries and enhancing coordination on issues of mutual interest.
The new mechanism underscores the importance both sides attach to strengthening their longstanding relations and creating avenues for closer collaboration across various fields. It is also intended to facilitate dialogue and coordination between Saudi and Sudanese institutions.
The signing ceremony in Riyadh marks an important development in the bilateral relationship, providing a structured platform through which the two countries can pursue shared priorities and further deepen cooperation.
The establishment of the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council comes as both countries seek to build on their historical ties and reinforce mechanisms for continued engagement at the governmental level.
